It's been a while since I last wrote.
The world has change greatly in the past few years. One needs to be careful while airing views since seemingly we dont debate any more. Satire is no longer appreciated and the sense of humor has gone numb.
So, you end up furiously debating things within your mind. You have to be careful about which joke to forward, even on a friend's group. Hence you are limited to 1-2 people only who you can discuss the world with. You discuss with them on the hopelessness of the situation and come out actually feeling refreshed. Since we all need to vent out.
For the first time we have started appreciating the meaning of "freedom of speech". Its not about just airing political or social views. It's also about being able to voice out your rational thoughts basis all that you've read or you know. However, one needs to be careful in even making logical arguments since people dont like them anymore. Since issues cannot be complex any more. Characters cant be grey any more Every issue has to be dumbed down for the lowest common denominator. And how does one argue with someone who does not have the patience or aptitude to understand an issue in its entirety?
Hence we've gone quiet.

Yes I agree to an extent that the two sides have become very prominent these days. Also that conclusions and inferences are achieved in seconds.
There is another side to this that intellectuals have romanticed the simplistic issues for decades. Sensationalism and you hit I miss philosophy has receeded the effectiveness of any argument.
